This was excellent! I remember when cities all had their burlesque theaters, usually a couple for a big city like Baltimore, Philly, or DC. My first wife danced at a titty bar in DC right next to a burlesque house. One day she told me about a amateur contest the House was having- $50 first prize. Fifty bucks was a nice chunk of change in 1978, so I said ok. But first I took her out and bought her an outfit.
